You can then check out their trust rating and their profile, maybe send them a message, see if they like listening to Fat Freddies too, and see if they might provide some interesting conversation for your journey.

There is a good chance somebody is driving to near your place from Auckland everyday, and they may well have a roof rack.

If they have entered their journey in Cooreea then by entering your canoe as a consignment into our system you will be matched with them. Remember - it costs nothing to list your consignments or journeys in Cooreea - just a few minutes of your time to sign up.

Ride sharing has been a success in many countries with stringent legal requirements over transport services, most notably Germany.

While we have found no precedent case. It is assumed that if a person is providing a service in exchange for a contribution towards the expenses, i.e petrol, that they are considered as a normal passenger in the vehicle. And therefore special licenses are not required

We note that with similar services like Trademe or eBay the onus has not been set by government for the members of the service to prove in what capacity they are trading. We therefore provide our service on a open basis.

With sustainability becoming more and more a focus we believe any initiative that increases the number of passengers in vehicles is a positive contribution to the community

For Cooreea to work requires a level of participation and public information which we think the average small-pharma business person would rather not have in a database.

If anything Cooreea provides a history to a transaction which would provide security for the Driver in the case of accidentally transporting illegal goods or substances.

Someone has been in touch and you want to answer but don't know how? (We recently had an email from a user who replied to the mailrobot email that sends you your notifications, although this was an amusing thing to happen, it won't get to the person you're trying to contact.) Instead, once you logged in the easiest ways to get to and reply to your messages is:

Click on the link "You have received a message for your Journey #.. or Consignment #..." in the Action Feed column underneath the left hand main menu bar. This will take you to the Journey or Consignment/Ride request listing the message was sent to. Then click on the blinking number or the envelope icon of the listing below yours that sent you the message.

The best way to get an overview of the most recent things that happened in your Cooreea account (once logged in) is the Action Feed underneath the main menu on the left hand side.

It tells you when there is a new match for any of your listings, when you received a message or when something has been confirmed as picked up or delivered etc. Check it out :)

SafeTrack is Cooreea's unique safety system.
When you make a contract with another user you receive a series of SafeTrack keys (numbers). These get exchanged at each point the consignment changes hands and tracked in our system. This enables you as the sender to a) check the identity of the person picking up your consignment and b) check at any point who's got the goods and is responsible for them. It is equally useful for the driver to use it as it enables them to confirm when they have actually picked up the consignment. The sender will not be able to say it has been picked up and gotten lost without the drivers confirmation of the pickup key.

It is an optional feature that you can use if you wish. We believe it will help you secure your goods while in transit and would recommend you use it for your consignments. Verstecken
