Sending a Consignment
In the Cooreea system a physical object you would like to send or have picked up somewhere is called a 'Consignment'. This can be everything from a box of books to a surfboard, chainsaw, bicycle or kayak, even a car you would like someone to pick up in another town for you.
Your responsibilities when sending Consignments:
- Provide detailed information about what it is, to avoid misunderstandings.
- Make sure things are well packaged and clean so they can't stain, spill or leak any fluids.
- If you are using SafeTrack, please update the status of your Consignment as soon as possible.
- Feedback is an integral part of our system and is what people will judge you on for future interactions - make it count.
Step 1: Join Cooreea
You will need a user account to proceed, please signup - it is free and easy.
Step 2: Listing
Finding a transport partner for a Consignment is easy. Just enter a listing for it on the website.
To enter a new Consignment listing click on 'New Consignment' under 'Find Transport' in the main left menu.
The Consignment form has instructions on what to enter. Please experiment. Tips:
- When entering the 'From' and 'To' address, make sure you click 'Lookup' so that your address gets saved. It is useful to enter the full address of pickup and delivery to make it easier for the driver.
- The size, weight and other details are not strictly required but help us provide you with better matches.
Step 3: Negotiating
Once your new Consignment is entered you will be taken directly to the Negotiation page where you will see any matching Journey listings who you can partner with.
If there is a matching Journey you can send them a message to see if they would like to make you an offer. If there are no matches, leave your listing in the system to be visible on the map. When a new matching Journey is entered you will be advised by email.
